Deloitte has announced a new initiative with Google Cloud to help clients mitigate climate risks, adopt green solutions, and unlock the value of low carbon products and services. The company is also the first global systems integrator with the Google Cloud Ready – Sustainability designation.
Accelerating the transition to zero emission vehicles
Deloitte and Google Cloud are collaborating to create a pathway to zero emissions through their Electrified Fleet solution. The solution aids companies in electrifying their fleets, integrating global fleet telematics data, resource optimization, and ongoing impact monitoring. Purolator, a Canadian integrated freight, package, and logistics provider, has already used the solution to achieve net-zero transportation goals. Deloitte's strategic roadmap has helped Purolator electrify 60% of its last-mile delivery vehicles by 2030.
Mitigating climate risk in financial services
Deloitte and Google Cloud have partnered to use Google Earth Engine to enhance geospatial analytics for financial services companies. National Westminster Bank (NatWest) has used this technology to capture climate-related data points across its commercial banking portfolio, focusing on agriculture customers. The data will assist NatWest in climate reporting obligations and support customers' climate and nature data collection, providing tailored insights for farmers.
Tackling the biggest climate challenges
Deloitte and Google Cloud are partnering to develop a global initiative focusing on sustainability, climate, and equity. The initiative will help clients transition to zero emission energy sources, tap into sustainable capital markets, scale sustainable products and services, accelerate regenerative agriculture, decarbonize digital business models, and build sustainable communities. The partnership aims to mitigate climate risks, unlock the value of sustainable products and services, build green communities, and accelerate progress towards a global net-zero future.
