Molins is playing a vital role in the construction of FC Barcelona’s new football stadium as part of its commitment to promoting the circular economy. A waste recovery plant has been installed by Molins, enabling the recycling of 100,000 tons of waste generated from the demolition of the old Spotify Camp Nou. By August 2024, approximately 80,700 tons of this waste have already been recycled.
Among the recycled materials, 22,600 tons have been transformed into recycled aggregates, which are being utilized as infills and granular pavement for various layers. Additionally, 16,400 tons have been processed to produce concrete with a lower carbon footprint. The remaining materials are currently stockpiled for use in the construction phase of the new stadium.
Molins also supports decarbonization efforts through its innovative Susterra solutions. This range of products not only significantly contributes to emissions reduction but also enhances circular economy practices and promotes a safer working environment. The company is set to supply all 160,000 m³ of concrete required for the stadium’s construction.
