In a major milestone for Saudi Arabia's construction and industrial sectors, Wolffkran Holding and Zamil Group Investment Company have joined forces to establish the Kingdom’s first tower crane manufacturing facility. The collaboration, which integrates Wolffkran’s global engineering expertise with Zamil Group’s local market acumen, aims to meet the region's growing demand for cutting-edge construction equipment.
Advancing Industrial Self-Sufficiency in Saudi Arabia
The manufacturing facility will cater to the surging need for tower cranes across Saudi Arabia and the broader Middle East. It aligns closely with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 objectives, emphasizing industrial growth and self-sufficiency. Wolffkran for Equipment, a local subsidiary of Wolffkran Holding, will spearhead the project, marking a significant leap in regional crane production capabilities.
Legacy of Contribution to Saudi Infrastructure
Wolffkran has been a vital player in Saudi Arabia's construction landscape since 2009. In partnership with Roots Group Arabia, the company has supported numerous high-profile infrastructure projects, including the expansion of pilgrimage sites in Makkah and Madinah, Princess Nora bint Abdul Rahman University, Jeddah International Airport, and the iconic Jeddah Tower.
In late 2023, Wolffkran took its commitment to the region further by establishing Wolffkran for Equipment in Riyadh, focusing on crane rental and services. This new facility builds on that foundation, underscoring the company's long-term dedication to the Kingdom's development.
Formalizing the Partnership
The strategic partnership between Wolffkran Holding and Zamil Group Investment Company was solidified during a high-profile signing ceremony held at Riyadh’s Four Seasons Hotel. The agreement grants Zamil a 50% stake in Wolffkran for Equipment, positioning both companies to expand operations across the Middle East.
The event was attended by a distinguished delegation, including board members from both companies, representatives from Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, the Ministry of Finance, and prominent local contractors and developers.
Wolffkran’s leadership team, including Chairman Dr. Peter Schiefer, CEO Duncan Salt, and COO/CTO Ralf-Dieter Koch, were present, alongside Saudi representatives such as General Manager Tariq Al Sawaie and Assistant Sales Manager Fahd Bouhaddou.
Building Regional Expertise and Capacity
This collaboration showcases how global expertise and local resources can drive sustainable industrial growth. Wolffkran’s advanced engineering capabilities combined with Zamil’s extensive regional knowledge will enable the delivery of innovative solutions for large-scale construction projects.
By establishing this facility, Wolffkran and Zamil are not only elevating operational capacity but also bolstering Saudi Arabia's strategic ambition to become a hub for industrial excellence in the Middle East.
