Radio remote control specialist IMET will use Pipeline & Gas Expo 2024, taking place 29th–31st May in Piacenza, Italy, to introduce its new TITAN transmitter for the safer, more efficient, and convenient operation of equipment, including excavators, trenching machines, and pipelayers.
IMET, a company with over 30 years of experience in designing and manufacturing radio remote control solutions for industrial, construction, agricultural, and general mobile applications, will spotlight its new TITAN transmitter at the upcoming Pipeline & Gas Expo.
While TITAN is suitable for a wide range of applications, this next-generation radio control solution is expected to attract significant interest from pipeline construction contractors attending Pipeline & Gas Expo 2024.
With pipeline construction often occurring in uneven terrain or confined spaces, remote control enables operators of equipment – such as excavators, trenching machines, or pipelayers – to work from a safer location, away from hazards like falling debris or unstable ground. This is especially important when lifting and lowering heavy pipe sections. Remote control operation also enables the operator to move around the jobsite, gaining a better overall view of the operation and improving their ability to manoeuvre the machinery precisely and coordinate with other site staff.
The TITAN transmitter represents a significant advancement in radio control design and technology, featuring a user-centric design, infinite customisation possibilities, ergonomic comfort, and a remarkable 40% weight reduction compared to previous models. With a choice of 110 analogue and digital controls, data feedback via LEDs or a crystal-clear 4.3" graphic display, the TITAN empowers operators with unparalleled control and adaptability.
At stand PAD.1 E10, IMET will also exhibit the entire range of updated M880 series radio controls and options. This includes the GFX 4.3 display, the LED-PAD (a new feedback control panel that can accommodate up to 32 coloured data feedback LEDs), the S-Holder accessory for ergonomic shoulder support, and the CTRL-PAD (a convenient expansion that allows for additional components to be mounted).
Personalised advice, custom design
Visitors will have the opportunity to see and interact with IMET products and receive personalised advice from experts at Pipeline & Gas Expo 2024. This is particularly important as one of IMET’s key strengths is its ability to develop customised radio controls tailored to specialist applications.
This capability is made possible by IMET's practice of keeping the entire design and production process within the company. IMET manufactures all the essential components of its radio controls, including complex elements such as single-axis and dual-axis optical joysticks, and a tri-axis joystick with a centre-return rotary knob that enables an additional proportional or on/off function with PL d category safety on the same joystick.
Of particular interest to contractors in the mid-stream oil and gas sector, IMET offers a line of radio controls designed and manufactured in compliance with ATEX and IECEx Directives for potentially explosive atmospheres. The ATEX/IECEx versions of IMET’s established KRON, ZEUS2, and THOR2 manipulators enable operations and applications that were not previously possible, providing operators with cutting-edge explosion-proof technology.
“Pipeline & Gas Expo is a unique trade fair – the only one in Europe specialising in the mid-stream and distribution sectors of the oil and gas industry,” says Tiziana Chiaradia, web marketing specialist at IMET. “It provides a valuable platform for connecting with important stakeholders. We look forward to meeting customers, strengthening our relationships, and increasing awareness of our customised radio controls for these highly specialised applications.”
