Spain’s Acciona has successfully tested an autonomous robot in the design layout of a hospital project in Évora, southern Portugal. The robot, known as the HP SitePrint, was employed at the Alentejo Central Hospital to aid in visualizing planning data by printing lines and text on the floor. According to Acciona, the robot completed its tasks six times faster than a human.
Equipped with wheels and a print head, the HP SitePrint robot demonstrated its ability to reduce drawing inaccuracies and facilitated the preparation of 25,000 square meters of partition walls.
The Alentejo Central Hospital is a €149 million project. The 10-story building will feature 400 beds, 127,000 square meters of green space, and a heliport. The hospital is scheduled for completion in 2025.
HP first introduced the SitePrint robot in the US in 2022, and it has since become available in the UK.
