Jeddah Construct Showcases Innovative Construction Solutions

October 2024

The inaugural edition of Jeddah Construct, the largest construction event in Saudi Arabia's western province, launched at the Jeddah International Exhibition and Convention Center, running until October 1. The event, powered by Big 5 Construct Saudi, saw attendance from a delegation representing the Jeddah Center for Exhibitions and Events, alongside Ben Greenish and Muhammed Kazi from dmg events.

Kazi expressed enthusiasm for the event, highlighting its role in connecting 200 exhibitors from over 25 countries and covering the entire construction value chain. “With $613 billion in mega-projects shaping Jeddah's built environment, we aim to meet the evolving demands of the construction landscape,” he noted. The exhibition featured 16 key product sectors, showcasing a mix of local and international innovations.

Exhibitors displayed cutting-edge steel products aimed at meeting Jeddah’s construction needs. Notable companies included Al-Yamamah Steel Industries, which showcased structural steel tubes, scaffolding, and pressure pipes. Kirby Building Systems presented a range of customizable steel building solutions, including pre-engineered structures and durable sandwich panels. Other significant exhibitors included Himalaya Steel Group, Framecad International, and Baz Steel.

The outdoor area featured major heavy machinery exhibitors, including XCMG Trading Company, which displayed advanced skid-steer loaders and excavators for initial construction stages. NAZ Industries showcased lightweight tipper and flatbed trailers designed to enhance operational efficiency for large projects.

The first day also featured CPD-certified Construct Talks, sponsored by Himalaya Steel. Industry leaders shared insights on construction trends and strategies. Khalil Al-Saeedi from Saudi Entertainment Ventures emphasized the importance of early collaboration among project teams, while Mohammed Abdel Jawad discussed the RACI matrix for effective resource allocation. An industry networking session hosted by the Chartered Institute of Building further connected professionals and thought leaders within the sector.
