Stafford Tower Cranes Unveils New Innovations in Crane Design and Safety Technology

October 2024

Stafford Tower Cranes has made a significant advancement in crane technology by introducing its own line of crane cabins, engineered to prioritize visibility, comfort, and safety. These cabins, equipped with standard air conditioning, will be featured on the STF7022 crane, which is scheduled for deployment in the Bahamas.

In tandem with these cabin innovations, Stafford has launched its new ‘Smart System,’ a cutting-edge telematics solution that monitors crane misuse, overloading, and location data across its entire range of models. This system aims to optimize operational efficiency and enhance safety standards.

Moreover, Stafford is working on a groundbreaking STS port crane design, available in two sizes, with a distinctive climbing capability. While further details remain confidential, the unveiling of initial designs has generated considerable excitement among competitors and industry stakeholders.

“This represents a game-changing entry into this highly specialized area of lifting, introducing a completely new concept for an STS crane,” said Mike Posener, Stafford’s marketing & business development director, in an exclusive interview with Crane & Transport Briefing. He further revealed that the company is in discussions at the highest levels within the U.S. political arena and expects to make a formal announcement in November, including the manufacturing location and a detailed design drawing.

Posener also confirmed that the first of their all-new 20-tonne luffing cranes will be released after testing in mid-November. Following this, an entirely new 42-tonne luffing crane is set to be showcased at Bauma, signaling Stafford’s continued expansion into advanced lifting solutions.
