Case Construction Equipment has unveiled the new D-Series motor graders, the 836D and 856D, which carry forward the strengths of their C-Series predecessors while introducing numerous advancements in comfort, precision, and intuitive control. These new models feature powerful Dual Power engines and can be tailored to specific applications with a variety of configurations and accessories.
The 836D and 856D motor graders are available in two- and four-wheel-drive models. The 836D has an operating weight range of 11,701 to 12,800 kg, a power rating of 102/115 kW, and moldboard widths of 3,050/3,355 mm. The 856D, on the other hand, weighs between 14,976 and 16,650 kg, is rated at 129/142 kW, and offers moldboard widths of 3,350/3,665/3,960 mm.
One of the standout features of these graders is the moldboard design. The roller-mounted encapsulated slewing ring minimizes backlash and reduces wear while supporting high mechanical torque for maximum control. Additionally, the A-shaped frame and central saddle provide optimal stability and versatility for cutting edge.
Powering the 836D and 856D is a 6.7 L FPT six-cylinder, Stage V diesel engine. This engine incorporates Hi-eSCR2 emissions technology with a maintenance-free diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) and selective catalytic reduction exhaust aftertreatment. It is also approved for use with hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) and other XTL synthetic fuels.
The Ergopower transmission in these models ensures smooth automatic gear shifting. In all-wheel-drive models, a creep mode is available for compaction work. The dual power curve with automatic switching at higher transmission ratios ensures that maximum power is available as travel speed increases.
The operator's cabin is designed for maximum comfort and efficiency. It features a low-profile ROPS/FOPS cab with full-width tinted glazing for a clear view to the front and the moldboard. Inside, operators have a choice between mechanical levers or electrohydraulic joystick controls. The electrohydraulic system includes three-axis joysticks built into multi-adjustable armrests, equipped with multiple roller switches and buttons to control various machine functions. These joysticks provide accurate control of all moldboard operations, comfort steering options, and TwinLift control for managing both lift cylinders from a single joystick.
Standard in the cabin is a heated and air suspension seat, along with a new touchscreen display that provides access to all machine and maintenance information and serves as a monitor for the rear-view camera. This customizable screen is located on top of a redesigned front console. A second console on the right-hand side of the cab includes the ignition key, new electronic hand throttle, cupholder, and USB charging ports.
To further enhance productivity, the D-Series graders come ready to install most popular plug-and-play machine control systems. A range of connected and non-connected after-sales solutions is also available.
With the 836D and 856D, Case Construction Equipment continues to lead the way in modern grading technology, offering machines that combine power, versatility, and operator comfort to meet the demanding needs of today's construction and road maintenance projects.
