Exploring Liebherr's Eighth Generation Dozers

October 2024

Liebherr, a German-based company with 75 years of history, has been active in the U.S. construction equipment market since 1970. The company currently offers seven models of dozers, now in their eighth generation, covering a range of class sizes from 29,000 to 160,000 pounds.

All Liebherr dozers are equipped with hydrostatic drive technology, a feature that sets them apart, including the PR 776—the largest dozer in the world using this system. Emanuel Vasquez, Liebherr’s product manager for crawler dozers and loaders, highlighted the benefits of hydrostatic drive, which the company has been utilizing since the 1950s. These include reduced noise levels, smoother operation, and additional performance advantages.

Vasquez also discussed the next-generation PR 776, a powerful machine that runs on a 768-horsepower diesel engine and weighs 72 metric tons. He elaborated on the many features and improvements that make Liebherr dozers a reliable choice in the heavy equipment industry.
